Draft — awaiting review

AI policy

LaoBrief uses artificial intelligence (AI) tools to help with some tasks. People remain responsible for everything we publish.

What AI may help with

AI may assist with organising research, transcription, translation, summaries, draft outlines, visual ideas, data processing and adapting content for different channels. [FOUNDER: confirm which of these tasks LaoBrief actually uses AI for]

What people are responsible for

  • editorial judgement,
  • accuracy and fact-checking,
  • choosing sources,
  • the final decision to publish.

We never treat a factual claim from AI as verified just because AI produced it. Every article needs at least one source, and every article is reviewed and approved by the LaoBrief team before it is published.

Languages

The site never machine-translates pages on the fly. An English version is published only after the team has reviewed and approved it.

Images

  • Illustrations, including AI-generated art, are captioned "ພາບປະກອບ / Illustration".
  • We never present AI-generated art as a photo.
  • Real photos carry a credit when LaoBrief does not own them.

Listen (audio)

Later, some articles will have a "Listen" button. The audio is synthetic Lao text-to-speech, not a human reader.
